El presente trabajo se propone abordar el fenómeno del travestismo por medio de las técnicas de evaluación psicológica, con el
objetivo de mostrar a través de sus convergencias, la problemática narcisista que dio origen al desajuste entre el sexo y el género
del entrevistado. Para ello se reclutó una muestra de 30 travestis
de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, que ejercían la prostitución callejera, a quienes se les administró una entrevista inicial, seguida del
Psicodiagnóstico de Rorschach, el Test de la figura humana, y el
MMPI-2 (sólo las escalas de género). Los resultados recogidos
por las diferentes técnicas de evaluación, dan cuenta de un narcisismo precariamente constituido, cuyas fallas deben buscarse en
épocas precoces de estructuración del psiquismo, anterior al reconocimiento de la diferencia sexual anatómica, y que se manifiesta por el desajuste entre sexo biológico e identidad de género.

ABSTRACT

This paper intends to address the phenomenon of transvestism by
means of psychological testing techniques in order to show,
through its convergences, the narcissistic issue that gave origin to
the disadjustment between the sex and the gender of the interviewee. To that end, we recruited a sample of 30 transvestites
from the City of Buenos Aires, who were working as street prostitutes, and who were administered an initial interview, followed by
the Rorschach Psychodiagnostic test, the Test of human figures,
and the MMPI-2 (only the gender scales). The results collected by
the different testing techniques reflect a precariously constituted
narcissism, whose flaws must be sought in early periods of psychic structuring, prior to recognition of anatomical sex differences,
and which manifests due to the disadjustment between biological
sex and gender identity
